Another Country Refuses to Allow the U.S. to Adopt Their Children
2008-09-02
Vietnam is not allowing any new adoptions due to fraud and corruption. Sadly, all the U.S. seems to care about is finding ways to convince Vietnam to change its mind so that those Prospective Adoptive Parents who have been waiting for their turn rather than dealing with the issues that are causing Vietnam to shut down its adoption in the first place.
Guatemala has already closed it adoption process for the same reasons. Women were being told that consents they were signing were just to allow their children to get better educations. No one said a word about terminating the rights of those parents to their children. With two countries shut down and the waiting list for China reaching up to 5 years, it looks like Adoptive Parents may need to start looking in their own backyard if they wish to have a family. With all of the children in the U.S. waiting for a family, it is my honest opinion that that’s the way it should be.
